Dan Murphy’s Experience
- Dan played Junior hockey for the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL
- He received a scholarship to Clarkson University ‘94-‘98.
- He graduated with a BS in Business Management in 1998.
- His college career consisted of being named a 2 time NCAA All American, 3 time league All-Star and set many records at Clarkson University and in the ECAC which he still holds today.
- Dan started his pro-career in 1998 when he signed his first NHL contract with the St.Louis Blues.
- He then went on to sign with the Montreal Canadians’ and Philadelphia Flyers.
- He played for various American Hockey League teams which included Worcester Ice Cats, Quebec Citadelles, Springfield Falcons, Milwaukee Admirals and Philadelphia Phantoms.
- Dan was selected to the AHL All Star team in 2000 and played in the All-Star classic.
- Dan was also named an ECHL All Star while playing in the ECHL.
- Dan was instructed by 3 of the top NHL goalie coaches Keith Allain (St.Louis), Reggie Lemelin (Flyers) and Rollie Melanson (Montreal)

- In 2005, Dan ended his career with a back injury and settled in the Seattle area. It was then that Dan wanted to give back to the kids and started working with the young goaltenders in the area.
Dan Murphy’s Goalie Clinics - Dan runs goalie clinics for SnoKing members during the winter season. These are open only to SnoKing members and are provided as part of your membership fee.
- Dan also runs goalie clinics in the spring/summer which are open to members of all associations at an additional charge.
- Dan’s clinics help goalies learn and improve upon the following techniques used by goalies everyday: Stance, Mobility, Balance, Lateral Movement, Shot Preparation, Leg Recovery, Angle Development, Strength and Stamina.
- State of the art training aids will be used including Screen Boards, Redirection Boards and Focus Enhancers.
- His clinics are appropriate for goalies of all levels. He will teach you what NHL goalie coaches taught him, how to become an elite goalie.
