Girls Development Program for 14U players

14U GDP Overview

The team will be led by Sno-King’s highly respected and talented skills coach, David Min (HC) and Naho Wills.

David is an expert at challenging players to stretch comfort levels, dream big and achieve their full potential. With David as head coach, the program will bring out the best in every player athletically and instill core values to help players achieve maximum success --- on and off the ice. Naho is former NCAA Division III player- St Mary’s Minnesota, and is excited to join David. Naho is a great addition to the coaching staff and will be a wonderful role model for the players.

David and all Skills coaches will still be working with all Sno-King teams and girls’ teams

Tournament Team

The 14U team is a USA Hockey tournament team and will play an independent schedule. Targeting between 25-35 games, the team will play in select (Rep) tournaments, mostly in British Columbia, challenge PCAHA A teams and participate in exhibition games against similarly skilled local competition.

Skills & Development Curriculum

The GDP delivers excellent results for players because it has the right blend of hockey development and game experience- a practice to game ratio of approximately 5 to 1. The program fosters the ideal learning environment where coaches are extremely positive and encouraging. The discipline, structure and inspiration are in place to maximize each player’s potential.

Key Components
- 4 practices/week (120+ ice sessions) - Speed and Agility
- 25-35 Games (3-4 tournaments & exhibition games - Stick Handling
- Skills Development (Skating, shooting, etc) - Video Analysis
- Strength Training - Mental Skills & Goal Setting
  - Guest Coaches and Specialty Clinics

Outstanding Program Value

Game time aside, development ice time is equivalent to approximately two years compared to regional programs. Yet, the GDP remains very affordable and provides great value. Unlike other teams, program costs are directed almost entirely toward additional ice time and specialized training (e.g., sports psychology, nutrition, off-ice training, etc.), rather than on airfare, hotels, fuel, restaurants, etc. associated with fly-away leagues and travel intensive seasons.

“While many programs offer skills sessions, the role is filled by part-time coaches and usually only happens once a week --- or as part of a given practice. Conversely, at the Sno-King GDP, skills development is the core of every practice.”

“Girls hockey is growing and with that, there are more competitive players seeking advanced development opportunities to match their ambitions. The GDP uniquely fills this important role in girls hockey.”
