Recreation

Recreational (aka "Rec:, “C” or “house”) refers to teams that do not have a formal tryout process. Players are evaluated to determine their basic skill levels and placed on teams with the goal of having approximately balanced talent on each team. Sno-King's Recreational teams participate in the Metropolitan Hockey League ("MHL") and play against teams from around the Puget Sound area.

Our Recreational teams are coached by parent volunteers and typically practice 2 or 3 times a week. The teams generally play 1 game per weekend during the season which runs from September to March with no games during holiday breaks and long weekends. These teams may participate in 1 or 2 tournaments as organized by the team manager. Playing time for a position is typically allocated equally with rare exceptions in the playoffs.

Sno-King currently offers Rec teams at the 8U/10U/12U/14U and 16U/18U age levels.
