Sno-King: Members Important Message on the Raise the Rink Campaign

By Sno-King Staff, 12/20/19, 12:15PM PST

As you know, Sno-King has leased a new building in Snoqualmie and is improving it into a twin-sheet ice arena that will allow us over time to improve our existing program, double our reach to an additional 1,600 kids each year and expand our all-girls hockey program. This is a rare opportunity for a nonprofit entity to create a recreational facility in this region and together we have an opportunity to step forward to create something that will be incredibly impactful both today and for generations to come.

We are in the midst of a two-phase, $3.5 million Raise the Rink capital campaign to help fund the costs of construction and operations for the new ice arena. The goal for Phase 1 of the campaign is to raise $2 million by May 31, 2020. This campaign is critical to the future of Sno-King so we are hopeful the entire hockey community, including our membership, will help us reach our goal.

As part of that campaign, we are now asking the families at Sno-King to help us to raise funds. To organize that effort, we will be working through the teams at Sno-King and we will be providing prizes to the players on the teams that achieve certain fundraising milestones. We will be assigning each team a fundraising goal that we hope that team will reach or exceed through a combination of their own resources and outreach for donations to family, friends, coworkers, neighbors and other sources.

There will be a coordinator for each age group that will work with your team manager to answer questions and provide guidance though the process. They are:  8U and 10U – Spencer Rodgers; 12U – Clayton Rodgers; 14U – Brad White; 16U - Jarett Goodkin; 18U - Happy Longfellow.  The team managers (ambassadors for the campaign) will provide more details about the prizes soon but you can see a summary of information (subject to change) with an unofficial list of prizes by clicking here.

To learn more about the arena and to see a fly through video of it click here. This is a great opportunity to make a difference and we need your help. Look for more information from your team manager/ambassador in the coming days.
