Hockey 1 Cancelled Saturday

By Jenn Wood, 03/05/20, 8:30PM PST

Hello Hockey 1 families,

We have been monitoring the COVID – 19 information closely including information available within our local region, as the health and safety of our players, staff, families and community is a top priority.  We have also consulted with the latest appropriate county health information and as of this time, they are not requiring businesses to close.  While a limited number of school districts have made the decision to have students stay home many remain open and are following normal operations.

Out of an abundance of caution, we are going to cancel the Hockey 1 sessions this Saturday. As of today, they will resume next weekend as scheduled but check back next week for communications with an update.

This is a rapidly evolving situation and our response to it may change as the situation continues to evolve. At this time we are not cancelling the current Hockey 1 series. The missed class may be may made up at the end of the session, but at this time we cannot guarantee a make-up class. We will know more next week, and will communicate with our families then.

Below are some guidelines from the CDC for you to follow:

  • Frequently wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. When soap and running water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand rub with at least 60% alcohol. Note: We have added hand sanitizers in key locations within the arenas so please feel free to use them.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Wipe down your cell phone routinely.
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow/arm, not your hands. Wash your hands afterwards.
  • Consider boosting your immunity by eating vitamin-C rich foods, getting enough vitamin D, etc.

If You’re Sick or Someone You Live With is Sick

  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • If you have a sick family member or roommate at home with COVID-19 refer to CDC guidance for how to conduct a risk assessment of potential exposure.

For more information on mitigating your risk, please visit the CDC website.
