On October 6th, the Governor expanded COVID-19 requirements for youth team sports and adult team sports including hockey.  The impact of these changes are currently being reviewed and updated by staff.  We ask for your continued patience and cooperation as we work to incorporate these changes into our programs and facilities.  Our top priority continues to be delivering a positive hockey experience with quality instruction and skill development while keeping players and their families safe.

Some important updates in the guidance include:

  • Masks required for athletes/participants directly before and directly after sporting activities and strongly encouraged whenever not engaged in strenuous activity. All Parents/Guardians must wear facial coverings per the Department of Health facial covering order. Coaches, referees/umpires, trainers, managers, spotters, and any other paid or volunteer staff must wear face coverings at all times, with an exception for referees that need to run in the field of play.
  • Physical distance of six feet of distance must be maintained among athletes when not engaged in sporting activities, huddles and team meetings must be physically distanced.
  • No spectators allowed except for one adult parent/guardian/caregiver for each minor-aged participant allowed.
  • Scrimmage, intra-team competitions, and league games allowed for both low and moderate risk sports.
  • Updated facility cleaning and safety protocol for all three facilities will be posted HERE

The impact of these changes requires careful planning for facility capacity and traffic flow, updating ice schedules for all programs considering quantity of skaters and length of session plus defining the safest off-ice dryland program.  As we work to administer these updates, please continue to follow your current ice schedules and practice times.  We anticipate releasing updates to the ice schedule as soon as Monday, October 12.  These changes will be updated through coaches and team managers in the coming days.

We appreciate your continued efforts to support our staff in complying with the latest guidance related to COVID-19.

Thanks,
Clayton Rodgers, Executive Director
