Sno-King COVID update & Virtual call follow-up

By Sno-King Staff, 12/08/20, 1:15PM PST

Sno-King Families,

As you might already be aware, this morning the Governor announced an extension of the current COVID-19 restrictions for the state through January 4, 2021. This means that our Sno-King Ice Arenas will continue to remain closed until we can reopen safely and responsibly. We are sadly disappointed we won’t be able to provide our community with the joys of hockey and figure skating throughout this holiday season but are hopeful for what 2021 has to offer. Last week when we met virtually with over 300 of our hockey families it was evident that we have a strong community that cares about our future and our mission. Thank you for giving us your time and attention as we continue to navigate these tough times together and share difficult updates on the impact that COVID has had on our non-profit. Below is a summary of the virtual calls we hosted last week including several follow-up resources on how to Stay Connected, Stay Active and keep Sno-King Strong.

Recap of Sno-King Community calls:

  • -For those who missed the virtual call or would like to view the presentation we have posted it HERE
  • -There is a video message from our Executive Director Clayton Rodgers HERE which explains the Sno-King update delivered on the calls.
  • -We received many questions on topics such as extending the season, how much money we need to raise, petitioning to re-open safely, use of Sno-King parking lots for team practices and fundraising. We will continue to work to answer these as best we can in the coming weeks.
  • -Our Sno-King Staff and Board of Directors continues to take important steps to minimize costs until we can reopen safely and responsibly as well as evaluate options to preserve our future.
