The Sno-King Hockey Staff
This camp is for goalies who are serious about development. Our instructors provide the best training to any goalie looking to bring their game to the next level. Goalies will work on stance, angles, depth, tracking, save selection, post save recovery, situational play and puck handling. Our dryland training is goalie specific, meaning the exercises are tailored towards utilizing key muscle groups that goalies need to be quick and flexible in the net. New this year Yoga!
Darin Campbell has been coaching goalies in the PNW for almost 20 years. He is currently the goalie director at SKAHA, the USA hockey goalie development coordinator for Washington state and has completed his USA hockey gold level goalie coaching certification.
The camp will give goalies comprehensive training on current techniques and skills. Starting from the basics such as C cuts and T pushes and moving up to more advanced skills such as RVH and lateral release.

The Board and staff at Sno-King are extremely excited to announce that we are providing a Mental Skills Training program for all players this upcoming season. The program will provide professionally designed materials meant to help young players gain an edge in the mental skills needed to enhance their hockey experience and to succeed in their future endeavors. The topics this year include Mental Toughness, Visualization, Grit, Motivation, Purpose, Quieting Your Mind, Teamwork among others.
While this program will require relatively little time and is simple to complete on an online platform, it has the potential to have a significant positive impact on each player and their parents. The format will include a combination of text, videos, and graphics. There will be a new lesson every 2 to 3 weeks and each lesson will take only 10 to 15 minutes to complete. For many age groups, it will be important that parents partner with their player to complete the lesson. We will provide age appropriate guidance for each age group.
The core program is from Pro Performance, a mental skills training program originally designed by pro soccer players and sports psychologists for soccer players. We have converted it to a hockey format through the help of volunteers, coaches, staff and local professionals. We are fortunate to have the assistance of Carmen Visan, a performance psychology consultant, therapist, and Sno-King goalie mom and Stephanie Stiegler, a world class athlete who specializes in mental conditioning and nutrition for elite athletes.
We encourage you to enthusiastically embrace the program as it will be an integral part of the culture of the Sno-King community for years to come. Much more information will be provided in the coming weeks.
Remember to register for the upcoming season (approximately 230 players registered in the first 24 hours) and to attend the Season Opener on September 22, 2019. Hockey season is less than 60 days away!!
