Welcome to the Inaugural Season Opener for all Sno-King association players, coaches, managers, volunteers, parents and families that will participate in 8U through 18U divisions for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.
Exciting News! We have received an overwhelming response from players, coaches, volunteers and families indicating they are planning to join our first Sno-King Season Opener event on Sunday September 22nd. Don’t miss it!! As we look forward to our 2019-2020 youth hockey season we want to share some important updates with you about the new location, guest speakers and event timing.
New Location! The Accesso ShoWare Center, home of the Seattle Thunderbirds has partnered with us to accommodate as many of our youth hockey families as possible. There is ample free parking, seating and food concessions to host our amazing hockey community. Please note the new location details in your calendars: ShoWare address is 625 W James St, Kent, WA 98032.
Guest Speakers! Tod Leiweke, Joe Bonnett, Bil La Forge, Flint Doungchak, with event host Bill Wixey
Tod Leiweke is a highly successful American sports executive who is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Team President of the Seattle NHL team. Tod has played leading roles in multiple pro sports franchises including the Seattle Seahawks and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Come hear him speak about the future of the new NHL franchise in Seattle.
Joe Bonnett is a regional manager for USA Hockey’s American Development Model. He provides nationwide support for USA Hockey's age-appropriate skill development efforts, bringing more than 20 years of hockey coaching experience, including 18 seasons at the NCAA Division I level.
Flint Doungchak if the General Manager of the Eugene Generals and Coach in Chief for the Pacific District of USA Hockey.
Bill Wixey is a Q13 News anchor and an Emmy Award-winning journalist who has anchored and reported in Seattle since 1998.

8:00am to 11 am – Mandatory coaches & manager training (Breakout rooms for 8U, 10U, 12U and 14 thru 18U coaches plus all managers) * note this is for all coaches planning to lead or assist a team as well as support during practices. This may also include some on-ice training. Look for a specific coaches and managers email from Doug Kirton this week with more details.
